Looking for a camping location to enjoy yourself and relax? The area around Richmond, KY., has great campgrounds suiting a range of different guests.

1. Oh! Kentucky RV Park

For those looking for a stunning natural place with creature comforts to park their RV, we recommend heading to Oh! Kentucky RV Park. There are sites aplenty, either under shady trees or in the gorgeous sunlight with hookups. This site is much more than a place to sleep. There’s an outdoor swimming pool, free wifi throughout, laundry room, bathhouses, small convenient store, dump station, and even RV hardware!

2. Fort Boonesborough State Park

We adore this historically informative site that teaches campers about the 1775 Fort Boonesborough settlement. The campground offers riverside camping, hookups, restrooms, an activities building, wifi, water stations, and a small grocery store. On-site are reconstructed log cabins, which are bought to life by actors demonstrating traditional crafts to visitors. This is a beautiful birdwatching spot for red-tailed hawks, too!

3. Walnut Meadow RV Park

This is an affordable spot that you can park large and small RVs alike, with access to convenient facilities. Onsite, there’s a laundry room so that you can stay for as long as you want, bathhouses, and wifi. The site is super close to local shops, restaurants, and the 75 highway, keeping you comfortable while you vacation. If you love golf, Walnut Meadow RV Park is a short drive away from Berea Golf Club, which has a classic course and gym facilities!

4. Home Grown Hideaways

For a unique outdoor campsite, we recommend staying at Home Grown Hideaways, where you can even make childhood dreams come true by sleeping in a treehouse! There are two different treetop options for you to choose from.

5. Turkeyfoot Campground

In Jackson County, this wooded campsite is beside War Fort Creek in London Granger District. Not suitable for large vehicles, this land is ideal for campers who love hiking as there are trails right outside the tent porch here. We advise that only more experienced wilderness campers stay here as there’s no running water, electricity, or dump station. However, visitors are indeed one with nature here.

6. Kentucky Horse Park

If you love horses, we advise packing up your tent and popping into the Kentucky Horse Park, home to horses and The International Museum of the Horse. This museum is a whopping 60,000 square feet celebrating and displaying the unique relationship between horses and humans. There are 260 campsites to choose from here, offering electricity and water. You can book horseriding sessions, trail rides for kids, and see parading horses shows.
